Fossil Springs Winery is located atop giant limestone. Throughout the years, underground springs have carved their paths into these stones exposing fossils that were deposited centuries ago.
Note from the Owner Mark Allison "In December 2017, I began selling my first wine, the Semi-Dry Elderberry, in liquor stores. I have since expanded to include semi-sweet and sweet varieties, as well as Strawberry, Blueberry, and Blackberry varieties.
I have made a wine that I hope you will enjoy and be proud to share with friends and family."
There are several low maintenance roads in the area. Do not attempt to access the tasting room by coming in from Block Road on 327th St. or Hospital Drive on 327th St. The only way to access the Tasting Room is to take Victory Road or Columbia Road to 327th St. and then go east. If you are concerned about staying off of gravel, then you will want to take Hedge Lane Road south off of 311th Street just east of Paola about a mile. Hedge Lane will turn into 319th Street. Take 319th Street to Victory Road and go south 1 mile to 327th Street then go east approximately a half mile. From 319th and Victory to the Tasting Room it is only a mile and a half of gravel. We are on the south side of the road in the big green barn.
